82191 - The end of innocence

N. Lygeros
Translated from the Greek by Athina Kehagias

When some people started to comprehend
that peace was also a tool of barbarism,
they realized how dangerous neutrality was
and so the phase of innocence came to an end.
They could see now that innocence
had no geopolitical benefits
because it didn’t see how the history functioned
and how it evolved within time.
Then they also understood the profound meaning
of the time bridge.
It was no longer merely a mental scheme.
Those who remembered the attempted invasion,
they also saw the danger of the future one.
It was not a theoretical question
but a tangible reality
which they had to deal with.
And they had to be Just.
Innocence not only did not solve the problems
which were created
but it enhanced and multiplied them
due to the absence of strategic will.
The issue of future will however
was already an existing matter
and a critical one at that.
