83982 - The occupied territories of mind

N. Lygeros

The notion of occupied territories seems clear for everyone but when we join the mind to it, everything is confusing. Nobody is prepared to consider the occupied territories of his mind. For everybody it’s obvious that there is only freedom. They think that there is no occupation of any kind. Of course they accept to have phobias but it’s their mind, it doesn’t count. They always need a concrete example to discover that there is at least an enclave in their brain. And at that point, they realize that their brain stops. The use of a brainstorming or a lateral thinking is very often useful but at the same time it is difficult to accept that our brain is not totally free. The real problem is a question of perception. When we realize that something is forbidden in our mind, we are out of our comfort zone. This means in fact, that our mind is enclaved in a comfort zone. That’s why we feel free inside. But if all your life you are living in occupied territories, for you, this is the normal situation, but it’s not freedom.
