The frictions in Russia don’t change anything about our support to Ukraine. The invasion of Ukraine by Russia is the proof that we can’t take peace for granted even in Europe. That’s why we have to prepare the Vilnius Summit because it’s crucial. We have to conclude the issue of Sweden and of course initiate the process of membership for Ukraine. We have to be efficient but also constructive because there is a huge need right now. We have also to lock the target of the Black Sea. The defense of the Alliance is fundamental. But we have to reinforce our boundaries with any aggressive enemy. The Alliance has to go further. To be effective, we must be together. We are responsible for the future of Ukraine. It’s a question of dignity. The case of Ukraine is a paradigm of the necessity in the defense of democracies. So we have to prove that our role is relevant even in the Eastern Flank of the Alliance.
