Often in human relationships we search out for the same, i.e. the identical, assuming that something ought to be similar to us in order to have a good relationship. In fact what we see in history and in the history of Humanity is that what really works is the complementary. Therefore, when we have a complementarity, it goes to say that we are different, we are not necessarily opposites however, but we are essentially compatible to do something new, such as a synergy, or at least a collaboration. So it can indeed be either a relationship or even a bond. Consequently, what we need to understand is that we should not look out for exactly the same in the other person, we ought to search out for what completes us, that which fills us up, because that is how joy production occurs.
