When the knowledge is accessible then the notions of protection and  dissemination are activated.  The protection comes from the respect of the source. The dissemination comes from the love of the source. To be alive, the knowledge has to be protected and disseminated. This is of course the exoteric way of thinking. But even for the esoteric there is an equivalent mental schema which is based on the secret and the initiation. The secret works as a protection and the  initiation as a dissemination. The difference is more  quantitative than  qualitative because the core is the same. The difference is related to two words: many and few.
