In the following position the target is simple. Black has to cut white. A way to do that is to put the first stone on P14. Why? Because, in reality it’s a way to control this area, and to avoid the connection for  the white stone. Of course the answer of white  is to play P15, but never mind, with Q14, it’s possible to find the solution and to stop, in reality, the connection of white.
