95462 - The Cold War II

Ν. Lygeros

Russia doesn’t accept the end of the Cold War because it will have to accept its failure. This denial is crucial for its policy and not only at the level of politics. The Kremlin’s position is even worse. It prefers to consider that we are at the beginning of WWIII instead of a new Cold War. It’s again a way to deny the reality of the world and to continue to live in a deepfake. By the way, it’s logical because for the Kremlin the reality of Russia is a psychological operation. And of course the invasion of Ukraine is only a special military operation. In reality, for Russia everything is about operations. This intermediate level between tactics and strategy is a Soviet innovation. It’s a third way which avoids the strategic level. The Kremlin loves  to be at the intermediate state because it’s harder for its enemies to understand its position. The Kremlin prefers the positional game and avoids combinations. But at the end it will be forced to accept the reality of the Cold War II. And even if this is impossible for its policy, its failure will be obvious and it will change the reality. Russia’s position will not change with a failure at the international level. Everything is internal in Russia. So the real change will have to operate inside, in the core of its structure. But in order to obtain this change, we have to continue our struggle against its barbarity for the security of Humanity.
