95972 - When Tradition supports Faith
N. Lygeros
At the beginning tradition and Faith can be totally independent but it’s possible that tradition can indeed support Faith and this especially time for the innocent people. The problem is when you don’t see essence, Faith looks like tradition but it’s of course wrong. Tradition doesn’t have the same level. In fact, it’s more a question of mathematics and not of memory. In this way, tradition supports Faith and it’s logical as already in Didache we can find this mental schema. The Lord’s teaching through the Twelve Apostles to the Nations as a Christian treaty explains to the first believers how to keep in mind the code of the Faith. It’s a way to fight against oblivion so we can interpret Faith as a combination of the code and the essence. So, tradition has a clear impact on Faith but it’s important to avoid reducing the last one into a kind of tradition. The difference is its essence. A believer needs light at the beginning and essence to continue. So, tradition is a kind of back up for Faith. We have to take care of tradition because it’s a way to protect Faith. When this action is understood, it becomes even more efficient against barbarity.
