96073 - Beyond equilibrium

N. Lygeros

Almost all people desire to have an equilibrium but they don’t realize that it’s in reality an obstacle when you want to live in harmony and to reach perfection. It’s like a paradox even when we know that far from equilibrium it’s possible to be creative. Prigogine proved it with his work in the field of Thermodynamics but it’s not a data for everyone. So people are trying to have an equilibrium in order to get a kind of completeness. But this is possible only at a very low level but we know the existence of Gödel’s incompleteness theorems. With them we discover that the Hibert’s program which wanted to find a complete and consistent set of axioms for all mathematics is a failure. And the reason is that any consistent formed system will not be able to move at the statements but natural numbers that are true, so at a high level, it doesn’t make sense to try to reach the completeness. So the task of equilibrium is useless. Even though many people are still trying to find a path but no way. That’s why it’s so important to go beyond equilibrium. Harmony is the good framework when you want to work in the field of perfection which has no limits because even perfection is perfectible.
