N. Lygeros
Translated from the Greek by Athina Kehagias
This podcast is dedicated to those who have not yet realized that we are in fact living the life we deserve.
What do I mean with this phrase?
Quite often we have complaints from life, we find that we have difficulties, that there is exertion, that we constantly have to make efforts and on the other side, if we do nothing, we get bored of living and we don’t know what to do.
Finally, what is the intermediate or what is the solution?
There is nothing different from what we do, as long as we think about it.
In actual fact life is a gift. This is the beginning.
Therefore, from the moment it is a gift, the point is how you utilize it.
You will take this gift, you will do something with it, you will simply put it in a space and you will not take another look at it, or you will use it, or will it be an investment for you to go further, or will it constitute a platform in order to produce yet another work?
We give shape to this gift of life. We could merely say that we just got it.
But when you got it, did you get it in order to do something?
It therefore also obtains a teleological nature.
What can you do?
You can expand it, you can make it grow, you can share it, you can multiply it, you can produce a work which derives from this life and produces new lives, and touches the souls.
Then you comprehend that there is enrichment. Therefore the gift of life ought to be enriched.
From what could it be enriched ? From the task.
Because work in itself also produces life.
But it produces life which could be shared, whereas a life can not be shared.
The work therefore which can be shared is the one that touches upon souls.
Consequently, we have a work which overflows from the entity, in order to touch upon other entities.
We have a light which overflows from the body so as to touch the souls.
If we observe it in this manner, we can say that life is the inception point, a gift which will produce many gifts.
Let’s put it a little more simply.
You all remember that fairy tale where we have a Genius, who is within an object, which when you find, then he tells you that you can ask him three favors.
What we ought to comprehend is that the gift of life is the Genius within the object. Life is the object.
It may seem to many as if it were an invisible cup. It could have been an invisible mug.
Then when you see it you are wondering if it has something within it. The issue is that what you will put in it is the work.
Therefore, we ought to imagine that everyone has access to a cup.
Most of us, because it is invisible, they step upon it, they break it without even realizing it.
Others protect it, but they do not fill it up with something.
And others, more rare ones, fill it with light.
And this afterwards is an offering.
Therefore, it is the example we have with the candles as well.
You can buy a candle, but imagine that you can not find fire.
If you have the fire and you don’t have the candle, how will you spread it, in this way, so easily, just as we do at the Resurrection.
Here, even in Christian terms, we could say that the gift comes to us at Christmas in order for the utilization of the Resurrection to take place at Easter.
Because what we want is the Resurrection.
But how could the Resurrection occur without birth?
We could as a result say that, life is a gift just as the birth is, and then on, work is a gift just as the Resurrection is.
