95461 - The North Pacific Treaty Organization

N. Lygeros

For many people, NATO is obvious but they don’t realize necessarily its importance even after strategic explanations. They don’t remember that it was an innovation in 1949 just after the WWII and at the beginning of the Cold War with only twelve members. After so many decades, this fact has become something which is obvious but it wasn’t. A way to think of that in a different manner is to consider what would be the North Pacific Treaty Organization. Because even if there is already a core in order to create it with America, Japan, Philippines, South Korea and Taiwan, it’s still a theoretical question. But the enemies are already here with China, Iran, North Korea and Russia. By the way, we are also in a kind of Cold War II. Many people are talking about a future or even a present War III but they don’t see the real elements of this Cold War II. At the strategic level, the difference is crucial. That’s why this Alliance is so important for the future. It’s born with tough conditions and it’s able to master them and not only to manage them. We have many managers but few strategists. As we have many coaches but only very few Masters. At the intellectual level, the North Pacific Treaty Organization is very efficient in order to understand the reality and the impact of the North Pacific Treaty Organization. It’s a fact which isn’t obvious. That’s why we have to think of it in a deeper manner for the next steps of this Cold War II.
