95534 - The crucial importance of Europe
N. Lygeros
Now it’s official, the Grand Strategy of the US is oriented to the Pacific Ocean and no more to the Atlantic Ocean but Europe remains a region of crucial importance for America. This is the source and this is obvious also with the reopening of the Notre Dame Cathedral. The presence there of the elected President but also of his special advisor is relevant. It’s not only a question of faith but also of culture. Even if the Grand Strategy has a vision at the Far East everybody in the US knows that the source of its civilization. It’s not only a relation at the geopolitical level but a real link between the two continents: the Old Continent and the New World. By the way, something has to be old if you want to be new. For the same reason, something has to be here if you want to have something far away. In both cases, Europe is at the center and remains the point of reference for the World. That’s why it’s so important to be in Europe when the past creates a bridge with the future. This is the point of the Gothic gem, Notre Dame Cathedral. It’s a symbol of the past and a starting point for the future. America had to be at Paris, in France to be seen at the center of the History because Time is even more important than space. This is the foundation of the future because it’s also a continent where the strategy is born in order to change the power balance in the world, where intelligence became a new power.
