Following Cyprus and Piraeus, the vesel Odin Finder of the GAS Italian company, which is performing the bathymetric study on account of the EuroAsia Interconnector, has reached the coast of Crete in the area Korakias, as the European Commission under the Project of Common Interests did prognosticate.
Therefore, while we are observing several ones say anything that comes to head, the project continues relentlessly and within the program’s timeframe at that.
Because the project is of international range and scope, the licenses which were given, followed the path of the tripartite Greece – Cyprus – Israel, and we see practically now the impact of this great alliance in the energean sector.
The Odin Finder systematically proceeds into identifying the feasibility corridor within a width of a few kilometers, approaching the coasts up to a depth of one hundred meters, a factor which allows it to give the big picture of the course.
More specifically in Crete, because we had the opportunity to visit the urban Region, we saw the dynamics that exist locally as well, in order to avoid any delays, and to exploit the entire Cretan context as a whole.
Because the EuroAsia Interconnector offers great potentials, to the island itself, and not merely towards the three States of the tripartite as such, in the sense of liberation from the quarantine status.
Consequently, yet another step towards reality was made, by the vessel’s presence in the region.
And this new reality can’t be questioned, where in fact Crete is playing an active role.
