7423 - Kastellorizo’s durability
N. Lygeros
Translated from the Greek by Athina Kehagias
Kastellorizo is not unique because it’s isolated, as it constitutes a cluster of islands. And its durability isn’t only measured from the island as such. It’s for this reason that even its onomasiology is substantial. Megisti is characteristic as a name, not only of the island but of the entire complex of islands. In other words, its entity reminds of the entire Aegean, which resembles Cantor’s set topologically. Consequently, the modeling of the island isn’t valid, without its dust. The regional analysis is indicative of the self-reference system’s effect. The weak point approach therefore, is not necessary for the Aegean structure as such. It’s more effective to assume that it constitutes a critical point of the entire structure. It’s of course related topostrategically with a network which is allowing for tactical movement of the Salamis type. Meaning therefore, that it doesn’t only obtain the components of Thermopylae, which would have as an ultimate consequence, the fall in the battle field. The analysis of the region can’t simply be the approach of a distant and marginal island. A localism is required, which is determinative as far as the structure isomorphism is concerned. It’s not incidental that the spectral theory of graphs gives other, and more specific results for the region, even if the simulation is performed in two dimensions. The chivalry is not based solely upon the notion of sacrifice, it’s also associated with strategy. If there’s no strategic purpose, then the sacrifice becomes degenerated because it doesn’t cause a phase change in the energetic sense. It is therefore important to invent a robust defense, based upon a real analysis of the local data and not on an asymptotic estimate, which can’t help either the strategy of the island, nor the high strategy of the homeland. One of the main reasons for the necessity of this analysis is the simple study of the aggressive scenarios, which all obtain a common factor, the occupation of the island for multiple and various reasons. We’re in need of no sledgehammer, in order to understand the properness of our actions. Even the military history is sufficient to show us the correctness of the argument. It’s neither an espionage, nor a special study issue, the simple logic indicates this concern in all its magnitute. If we really wanted to support our positions and make them durable, then it’s not enough to say that we care about Kastellorizo, but we must also prove it by our actions. The general concern re: the EEZ has sufficiently highlighted the issue, which can not constitute a exclusivity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, because another type of expertise is required. Whether we like it or not, Kastellorizo is already a historical reference point. It’s up to us for it to become a crucial point for the future, not only within the Greek field, but in the European context as well.
