25304 - The animal that protects life

N. Lygeros
Translated from the Greek by Athena Kehagias

If we were to realize that the diferentiation between human and animal is irrational, and that the separation between human and nature doesn’t make sense, then we ought to comprehend that the status of the human is not what we perceive in a simplistic manner.
From the instance that the human can comprehend that the entire nature of the planet functions as an entity, he should also understand what is his actual role within it.
As his role isn’t the exploitation of all around him for his benefit alone, since in the long run this is catastrophic.
Based on this concept, the human respects more and more the environment, which constitutes nothing more than a local piece of nature, as well as the action field in which all the other animals exist.
Therefore, it’s amongst those that we need to find a balance, and not without them, as some who haven’t been enlightened either through their thinking, nor through their religion assume.
Consequently, we could slowly discover that when the human comprehends the humanism of animals, then it could become the animal which protects life, without that necessarily implying a status of superiority.
He simply has the ability through intelligence, which is not unique, but it’s sufficient enough for him to obtain a meaningful life through its actions.
In other words, if he is able to follow the mental scheme: Love thy neighbour, he will protect the animals as well, from the actions of barbarism which isn’t necessary in any way or form, when you actually comprehend that their life is not only a mere existence.
