27824 - Τhe Unacceptable Azerian pressures

Translated from the Greek by Athena Kehagias

The pressures applied by the Azerian state company SOCAR upon the government are simply unacceptable.
Even if the initial agreement meant anything for some, it has now reached a degenerative stage, where the sale is simply a sellout, and nothing else.
The government has no excuse in to accepting these coercive conditions.
The entire matter no longer makes any sense economically.
Additionally, at the time when Greece is preparing to finally pass through to a period of utilization of the Greek EEZ, with certain contacts made with Cyprus, Egypt and Italy, there is no reason to sellout DESFA.
And now that DEPA is preparing to participate in the construction of the East Med natural gas pipeline, what is the reason for Greece to undermine her structures and infrastructures, since it is those which we will be using during the utilization of the EEZ.
We already know that the entire delay of the negotiations is resulting from the European Union, because it’s cautious of a country which is not even European, and on this point our position should be crystal clear, especially after the European Parliament’s decision re: the energean road 2020, in order to promote European utilization of both the Black Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean reserves.
